Hi Brook,

As I promised I am finally getting back to you to let you know how our holiday to China went. One word describes it FANTASTIC.

There was only 4 of us until we arrived in Xian, where 2 more people joined us.

We had a great time. We would not have had such a good time if we didn’t have such good tour leaders who told us what time the bus was picking us up, where we were going, which toilets to use, knew where lunch was, got our tickets etc etc. The tour guides arranged wheat free meals for me which was fabulous.

Of course everything had changed since my last visit to China. My memories and the reality of 2011 are two entirely different things.

It was cold in Beijing, I had two layers of thermals on, however it wasn’t unpleasant. The only place where I felt very very cold was climbing the Great Wall of China where my fingers got very very cold. I had on leather gloves.

We enjoyed ourselves enormously. It wasn’t until we arrived back in our business that I reliased I hadn’t had to think of what to do, where to go or make any decisions. The tour guides did all that.That was really refreshing as I have to think and make a lot of decisions for our businesses.

We are looking forward to another opportunity in which to visit different parts of China.

My wife and I have just returned from a magical “Glimpses of China” tour. We just want to say that China Holidays representatives in China did a superb job of meeting greeting and looking after us and they made our experience one we will never forget. I am sorry for the delay in writing to you and it’s surprising how quickly time has past once I returned home and back to work. I must tell you what a wonderful holiday I had in China and thank you and China Holidays very much for providing me with a flawless service right from the first email to the booking confirmation and the tours. I loved China and was amazed at the incredible attractions and beautiful scenery around Beijing and on the Yantze River. My hotel was lovely and so close to the subway I was able to travel around the city to the Beijing Zoo and Summer Palace quite easily on my free days. The tours were perfect for meeting people and having someone with such knowledge to show off many of the city’s main attractions.

I fulfilled my dream of being on the Great Wall of China for my 50th birthday and even had a birthday cake waiting for me when I return to my hotel room that night  It is these extra special efforts that made my holiday in China a great event in my life. I appreciate all the work and help you have provided and thank you very much.

To whom it may concern

Having recently returned to New Zealand from an all-too-brief visit to Beijing,I wanted to let you know how much we really enjoyed our three days in that city.

Our visit came at the end of six weeks in Europe, and by the time we had completed that journey, I must admit I was more than ready to go home.

However, my husband and I have been completely captivated by Beijing, and the people we met there!

I realise Beijing is just a VERY small part of China as a whole,but we were made to feel SO welcome, and learned such an amount of fascinating information of China’s history.

We were just so VERY fortunate to have Li Li and Mr Jiao as our guide and driver (I apologise for not having Li Li’s surname, and am not sure of Mr Jiao’s spelling!!)—you could not have assigned better ambassadors!

Li Li is such a beautiful young lady, with an amazing wealth of the most interesting and informative details of the history and culture of the sites we visited
She was extremely caring of us (we are in our 70’s) at the Great Wall, and allowed us to go as far as we felt was wise.An unforgettable experience!!

At Tianamen Square and the Forbidden City, her knowledge and presentation of historical detail was impeccable, and there is SO much we will remember!

Her passion for her culture, and ability to inspire the people to whom she is speaking, is a credit to her up-bringing, and education. I would love to have spent more time in her company.

Mr Jiao is a credit to his employer. Despite having no English, he made us welcome in his transport, was a careful and considerate driver, and was ALWAYS within reach whenever we were ready to move on to our next destination. We felt very safe in his care!!

Thank you for allowing us to share these two wonderful people for our three days—– we hope to return to Beijing within the next couple of years to venture further into your culture. We will always remember this— our first journey —–especially because we had such a brilliant guide and driver!!
Would you please convey our congratulations to the appropriate people—especially Li Li—she is a star!!!

Hi Brook,

I returned from my tour last Friday. You may recall that I stayed in Beijing for a further 3 days after the tour finished.

Air China was very good, better than Emirate Airlines who I flew to Europe with last year.

The hotels in Shanghai, Xian and Beijing were very good. The service was fantastic. If you asked for room service if was delivered very promptly.

A issues was that were we allowed 30kgs of luggage on our International flights but only 20kgs on Domestic flights. Therefore if a person arrived in China with 30ks problems could arise with later domestic flights.

The food was always great. Good variety, nice and fresh with large servings.

The tour guides were great. Edwin in Shanghai and Steven in Xian were knowledgeable and pleasant people. Emily in Beijing was great. She even contacted me on my last day in Beijing to keep me informed about the driver who was to take me from my hotel to the airport. Emily was meeting another new tour that day and she went to the trouble of helping me check in for my return to Sydney. This type of excellent service is not forgotten.

The tour escort, Vina Wan, who accompanied the group in all three cities was absolutely fantastic. She was the glue that held it all together. She is a very intelligent and personable young lady and must be highly regarded by your company. Everybody in the group really admired her efficient and friendly manner. Vina, in fact all your staff were great advertisements for your company.

We were a bit disappointed that the tour guides and Vina were not able to join us at meal times. I appreciate that some cultures in Europe may require a segregation of guides and tourists, but us Aussies like to be friendly and not have those barriers. We would have liked to have known more about the three guides and Vina. It’s only a minor point.

I really enjoyed the tour. In fact I think I will be returning to China several more times.

Dear Crystal,

Thank you so much for all your help in organising our recent holiday in China. We really appreciate the effort you made to keep abreast of the flight changes and ensure our airport transfers were there waiting for us. Everything ran like clockwork thanks to you and Yuan.

We had a wonderful time and have many treasured memories: especially from Zhangjiajie where the hotel manager Mike and his staff were wonderful. We have just returned to Sydney after taking the 10 day Glimpses of China tour, this was our first trip to China and my wife Pamela and I would like to thank you for a wonderful and enjoyable holiday. The hotels we stayed at were excellent and all the local guides and their drivers were very friendly and helpful and met us as we arrived at each of the airports, took us to our hotels and later took us back to the airports for our transfers, they all did a great job. In Shanghai the local guide was Chris and we appreciated her giving us an understanding of the culture of a typical Chinese family, Sally was the local guide in Xian and it was obvious she had spent a lot of time researching Chinese history as she was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed listening to her, Veronica was the local guide in Beijing and she was very informative and accommodating.
